Delta Airlines’ New Payment Focus

    The “phablet” will carry flight manuals and will allow for on-board sales and let employees process credit card payments.

    Delta estimates the move will save the company will $1 million each year in fuel and printing costs for the 500 page flight manuals attendants have up until now had to carry on board with them.

    Plans are also in the works at Delta to equip all pilots with Microsoft’s Surface 2 by the end of 2015. The phablet conversion will be faster, projected to be complete by the end of 2014.
