Digicash Ties SEPA Credit Transfers In Its Beacon mPayments Platform

Bank-led mobile-payment scheme Digicash has launched a pilot in which it is testing Beacon technology that combines Bluetooth, Near Field Communication and QR code technologies, the company announced March 14.

    A few retailers are testing the product, but soon the app will be available to all Digicash users, the company said.

    Users who want to pay by Digicash do not need to link a credit card or to top-up a wallet. Payments made using Digicash are performed directly from the customer’s existing bank account using SEPA credit transfers.
