Seth Pribatsch, Chief Ninja at LevelUp, indicated in the article “over 1.5 million LevelUp users can now pay with their smartphones at over 14,000 locations.” But, he added, “What we really always dreamed of was being the largest smartwatch payment network.”

The newest LevelUp Android app will push the company’s Android Wear app to customers’ smartwatches, and then when they are near their favorite LevelUp merchant, it will automatically ask if they’d like to pay by using the device. Simply tapping on the screen or saying “OK Google, start LevelUp” will bring up the merchant’s QR code. Users will then scan their wrist against the scanner and seconds later will receive a push notification receipt on their watch.

The LevelUp Android Wear app is free, and works anywhere that LevelUp is accepted, running on all Androd wearables.
