With Thanksgiving Day officially one week away, Din is helping residents in San Francisco and Los Angeles take the stress and anxiety out of preparing and cooking the annual meal.

The California-based food delivery startup has a slightly different business model than its competitors, like HelloFresh and Blue Apron, in that it partners with local chefs to bring restaurant-quality recipes and ingredients directly to a customer’s doorstep.

“It was through cooking a restaurant dish at home that we got inspired to cook like a restaurant,” Din Cofounder Emily Lafave told TechCrunch.

“But we realized that restaurants actually do all this prep work to be able to cook as fast as they can … We thought, what if we can empower the home cook to cook as quickly as a restaurant and with as much flavor? So, what we do is get you access to those recipes but also the team of chefs behind you doing the prep work.”

For its Thanksgiving-themed menu, the company partnered with San Francisco chef Thomas McNaughton to allow customers to recreate dishes from his award-winning restaurants, including options such as organic free-range heritage turkey, classic herb stuffing, chocolate pecan pie and fresh white truffle.

Din’s promotional Thanksgiving menu offerings are pre-portioned out for parties of six people, with the minimum order price starting at $60. Courier APIs like Lyft, Uber and Postmates are leveraged by Din to pick up orders containing pre-packaged perishables and deliver directly to customers.
