eCommerce Gets A New Industrial Player

Factory Supply has upped its online game by launching a new eCommerce site that enables customers to get more than just a quote.

The newly designed site enables customers to purchase industrial equipment online. Previously, Factory Supply only offered "call for a quote" on its site. Now, however, the company has realized the value in enabling their customers to buy directly online without having to speak with a salesperson.

This decision stemmed from the ownership change that had Michael Liebe acquiring the company last year. Factory Supply launched the new site to offer a more convenient shopping experience, but sales associates will still be on call to work with customers who need to make an order by phone.

“We are looking to bring the simplicity of purchasing products on an eCommerce website to an industry traditionally accustomed to calling for quotes,” said Liebe on the company’s decision to evolve its website.

According to the company, Factory Supply’s customers primarily order large items such as ladders, work platforms and material handling equipment that require custom shipping through freight brokers. While the old system didn't have a sufficient method to allow consumers to buy online, its new, overhauled site streamlines the process and enables consumers to get the freight cost, which can be accepted or denied, sent in an email soon after checkout.
