Epicor Acquires Longtime Partner Insite’s Shipping SaaS

Epicor Software Corporation, which offers Software-as-a-Service solutions for suppliers, announced Thursday (Feb. 19) that is has completed the acquisition of key B2B service assets from Insite Software after more than a decade of integrated collaboration between the two firms.

According to reports, Insite, which offers e-commerce solutions for B2B and direct-to-consumer retailers, as well as shipping services, reached a deal to sell assets to Epicor, including its InsiteShip and InsiteManifest SaaS.

InsiteShip offers manufacturers and distributors shipping resources and tools with certified integrations with leading carriers, including FedEx and UPS. InsiteManifest is a web service solution that allows companies to process shipping transactions while aggregating tracking information and other data.

Epicor’s acquisition of these units follow more than a decade of a close partnership with Insite Software, say reports. Epicor first integrated Insite Software shipping solutions in 2003 and, according to reports, more than 70 percent of manufacturers that use InsiteShip and InsiteManifest are already current Epicor customers.

According to Epicor Chief Product Officer Janie West, the companies’ longstanding relationship led to a natural fit with Epicor’s supply chain services. “The acquisition of InsiteShip and InsiteManifest solutions supports our desire to provide a more comprehensive solution to customers that expands our business solution footprint to support broader supply chain initiatives,” West said.

Insite Chief Executive Officer Tony Abena agreed that Epicor’s takeover of these shipping assets is a natural progression for the firms. “Today, our primary focus is to power connected commerce, delivering rich B2B and Direct to Consumer experiences that drive our customers’ businesses forward,” he said.

The acquisitions, West added, strengthen Epicor’s ability to offer SaaS delivery services and boost its cloud technology offerings for suppliers and manufacturers.

Insite announced last week a new partnership with Agency Oasis to strengthen its digital commerce offerings for B2B companies.
