BigCommerce Moves Into Germany, Mexico and Spain

eCommerce

Open Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) eCommerce platform BigCommerce on Monday (Jan. 31) broadened its reach into Germany, Mexico and Spain, allowing local merchants to grow their direct-to-consumer (D2C) and business-to-business (B2B) platforms around the world, a company announcement said.

BigCommerce’s expansion into three new countries also adds omnichannel capabilities in those regions. The additions follow BigCommerce’s launch in France, Italy and the Netherlands. It’s BigCommerce’s first step into Latin America.

“A robust and flexible eCommerce platform that can grow in parallel with business needs is critical for merchants to gain solid footing in today’s increasingly digital world. This is the competitive advantage BigCommerce offers to retailers in our newest regions,” said Meghan Stabler, vice president of international marketing at BigCommerce, in the company announcement.

“Coupled with local support and translated resources to establish their brand, connect with customers and build trust, our solution primes businesses to enrich the online customer shopping experience and positions them to innovate in today’s rapidly evolving marketplace,” she said.

BigCommerce’s roster of established clients in each of its new regions includes Tienda Chivas in Mexico; Diageo and Safeguru in Spain; and Unu Motors and Dr. Barbara Sturm in Germany.

In November, BigCommerce debuted an advertising coupon program with TikTok that gives qualified merchants in the U.S., U.K., Australia and Canada who spend more than $300 on ads $1,000 in credits to spend on TikTok advertising.

TikTok Shopping is in the middle of beta testing in select countries. BigCommerce plans to expand it into new markets in 2022.

As part of the BigCommerce-TikTok partnership, merchants have access to the TikTok For Business app through the BigCommerce Channel Manager, giving them the ability to sync their catalogs and produce ad campaigns.

Merchants can use TikTok Ads Manager to design and set ad campaigns, tailor their messages to the right audiences, create connections with consumers through video ads and other tools, maximize return on ad spend (ROAS) with smart advertising and build and create their brand presence.
