CBA Taps New Provider for Contactless Mobile Payments

Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) has chosen Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) as its electronic payment services provider, according to a report by The Paypers.

    The CBA is looking to add mobile-based payment options to its service offerings and G&D will provide the technology needed for the initiative.

    While the CBA is equipped to enable iPhone users to transfer MasterCard PayPass information to their smartphones, the iPhone is not currently NFC-enabled. However, a cover has been developed to enable such transfers on the iPhone.
