Heartland announced yesterday (March 14) that it has signed a cooperation agreement to integrate the Heartland Portico Gateway with Computop Paygate — a platform that provides international payments solutions and fraud prevention. This partnership will enable Heartland customers to expand their multichannel business globally, as well as tap into the domestic and international payment options offered by Computop Paygate.

“We chose to work with Computop for a variety of reasons. Their strong functionality and security, combined with the breadth of payment methods that Computop Paygate offers for Latin America, Europe and Asia-Pacific regions, will serve our customers well as they expand their businesses internationally. They can rest assured that their global payment processing needs can be easily satisfied through this collaboration with Computop,” said Joe Wysocki, senior director of eCommerce for Heartland.

This deal is also said to offer Heartland’s customer base value-added services important for global business, including debt management solutions and access to multiple credit agency interfaces that verify an international shopper’s or business’ credit background.

Computop Paygate also provides currency conversion, a solution that enables merchants to reflect and accept international currencies like euros, pounds and others. According to Heartland: “This helps to reinforce consumer trust and reduce basket abandonment since shoppers see prices displayed in locally available currencies.”

For Computop’s customer base, this collaboration provides them with additional secure acquiring solutions in the U.S.
