Subject to customary closing conditions, the acquisition is expected to close by the end of the year, the companies said in a Monday (March 30) press release.

Upon closing, the acquisition will accelerate Uber’s move into the chauffeur sector, which was marked by the company’s March launch of Uber Elite, and support the demand for executive travel, which has made pre-booked Uber Reserve trips one of the fastest growing parts of Uber’s mobility business, according to the release.

When launching Uber Elite in March, Uber said this is a luxury ride experience designed for executives, frequent travelers and riders looking for a more elevated experience. The service features commercially licensed professional chauffeurs and luxury vehicles that are no more than three years old.
