Hawaii Seven Uh-Oh: State Sues Credit Card Companies

Hawaii Attorney General David M. Louie filed lawsuits against seven major credit card companies. The defendants are Bank of America, Barclays, Capital One, Chase, Citi, Discover, HSBC, and their subsidiaries.

    The suit alleges that credit card companies have been improperly charging customers in Hawaii for products not directly requested by the consumer, or for products that failed to deliver benefits as advertised.

    Local attorney Rick Fried is representing the State of Hawaii, in association with two mainland firms: Golomb & Honik of Philadelphia, and Baron & Budd of Dallas.
