MHITs, a mobile payment firm based in Australia, has enabled remittance payments over SMS, and says it hopes to establish a “remittance corridor” between Australia and Nepal, Mobile Payments Today reports.

    MHIT wallet users can send money to each other over SMS without any other account information, the company explains. Only a mobile phone number is needed for mHIT’s “micro-remittance” service.
