45% of World’s Payment Cards Are Now EMV Compatible

There are 1.5 billion EMV payment cards in circulation and 21.9 million EMV terminals active worldwide, representing a 45 and 76 percent share of the market respectively, according to new data from EMVCo noted by Finextra.
