The latest cybercrime report from ThreatMetrix finds that a new “strain” of malware — malicious software that can be used to compromise security systems — has impacted commerce companies.
The malware, apparently a “new variant” of the Zeus Trojan virus, appears to have attacked four different commercial players, “including social media, financial services, retail, and payment processors,” the report says.
