South Africa, Italy, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Romania and the United States are among the countries whose governments have recently expanded the use of electronic payment systems to distribute funds, MasterCard says.
The payment network has put together a nifty infographic to demonstrate the trends in and benefits of electronic government payments. Highlights include an expected $1 billion in savings for the U.S. Treasury over the next ten years, and a million new electronic payment beneficiaries in Italy.
