Natwest customers were greeted by yet another glitch, which saw them unable to use ATMs, online banking and other of the bank’s services. The disruption lasted from Wednesday 6 March, until the morning of the day after. While the bank claimed to have resolved the issue at 1AM, many customers were still trying to access their accounts late morning on Thursday.
Angry customers took it to Twitter, where many pledged to leave the bank. These do not seem to be empty words as last year’s Natwest glitch saw customers move their banking to co-ops, building societies and credit unions, the Guardian reports. Last time the bank suffered technical difficulties, the co-op bank saw current account applications rise 25%.
