Gemalto, Tigo Partner For Facebook App With No Data Plan Requirements

Gemalto has partnered with Tigo, Colombia’s first mobile network operator, to offer mobile access to Facebook, using its Facebook For SIM mobile app. Gemalto’s embedded software app provides access to Facebookfrom any type of handset, offering a cost-effective alternative for Tigo’s 6.3 million subscribers. Tigo’s users and potential customers will be able to use the service even without a data plan.
