eBay Urges Users To Oppose National Sales Tax Bill

Online commerce giant eBay has sent an email to tens of millions of its users urging them to fight the national online sales fight tax, according to The Wall Street Journal.

    EBay is contending that the Marketplace Fairness Act, which exempts businesses generating less than $1 million in out-of-state revenue from the bill’s terms, would still hurt to many small businesses. Instead, eBay is pushing for an out-of-state sales limit of $10 million.

    “The legislation treats you and big multi-billion dollar online retailers–such as Amazon—exactly the same,” eBay CEO John Donahoe wrote in the emailed statement.
