Norwegian Banks Roll Out Visa Card Programs For Children

Select Norwegian banks have tapped into a new market for card payments and have introduced new Visa cards for children under 13 year of age, reports Payments Cards&Mobile. The younger generation spends an increasing amount of time online and banks such as Norwegian SpareBank 1 have decided to target the younger consumers by offering an account that has no insurance fee and can be used free of fees in-store and at SpareBank’s ATMs. Parents are given access to the account and are able to control all activity. SpareBank also offers a Visa Electron credit card for consumers aged 13-18, which features no annual fees and does not charge for retail payments both in the country and abroad.
