Report: China To Unseat U.S. As Largest ATM Market

A recently released report from consulting firm RBR, entitled “ATMs in China 2013,” suggests that China may soon surpass the United States by becoming the largest market for ATMs, ATM Marketplace reports.

    The Asian nation added more than 46,000 ATMs in 2012 according to RBR’s researchers, which means there are now roughly 415,000 ATMs available to Chinese consumers. This marks an increase of 250 percent since the end of 2008, the report says.

    And though the United States is still the largest market for ATMs, RBR also noted that ATM users in China enjoy a higher degree of functionality on their devices.
