MasterCard, Blue Label Provide POS Terminals In South Africa

MasterCard announced a new partnership with Blue Label Telecoms Limited to provide 22,000 small traders and rural merchants in South Africa with POS devices. This initiative will allow these merchants to accept card payments for the first time.

    Blue Label is providing over 15,000 new EMV-certified, contactless enabled POS terminal devices, which will accept Chip & PIN and contactless card payments. Additionally, more than 7,000 traders with existing Blue Label POS terminals will be given an upgrade with MasterCard mobile software.
