Tanzanian Government Accepts Taxes, License Fees Through Mobile
According to Mobile Payments Today, the Tanzanian government is now accepting tax payments and motor vehicle licensing vehicles via mobile phones. The service commenced three weeks ago, and has since received about $2.5 million from mobile users. The initiative is said to be an important part of Eastern Africa’s goal to increase mobile money solutions across the region.
