Study Ranks Countries’ Contactless Card Usage

A recent Juniper Research study indicates there will be more than 250 million contactless cards in use around the globe by 2014, VentureBeat reported on November 19.

    The study found that contactless cards are most popular in Australia, Canada, Poland and the U.K. Demand has lagged in the United States due to a lack of contactless POS terminals, the researchers concluded. The ratio of contactless cards in use to terminals in the U.S. is approximately 600:1.
