J.C. Penney has revealed that its third-quarter eCommerce sales were up 24.3 percent year-over-year, Internet Retailer reported on November 21.
The retailer posted online sales of $266 million in the third quarter, an increase from last year’s $214 million.

The numbers indicated that J.C. Penney’s bid to improve customer service may be winning customers, which J.C. Penney CEO Myron Ullman acknowledged in an earnings call is key to bring back consumers lost to competitors.
“During the third quarter, we continued to improve the customer experience in our stores and online in direct response to customer and associate feedback,” Ullman said.
