Instacart Takes Manhattan

Instacart has officially launched in New York City this week.  The grocery delivery service is already popular in Chicago and San Francisco and will now be serving the section of lower Manhattan between Hell’s Kitchen and Tribeca.

    To cover NYC’s diversity of needs, Instacart delivery professionals will service areas in the initial rollout market on foot, on bikes and in cars.

    Instacart told TechCrunch that their revenue has grown 2.4X in the last two months and that this spurt outstrips their growth in their first 20 months.

    The business plans to be in 10 U.S. markets by the end of 2014.
