The integration enables over 23 million Telefonica O2 customers in the U.K. and 7.8 million TELEUS subscribers in Canada to buy digital goods like apps, music and e-books, as well as the ability to choose to bill their service provider instead of using PayPal or other credit card options.

    “We
are pleased with the good collaboration with O2 UK and the successful
launch of another Google Play integration as part of our international
partnership with Telefonica Group,” Vice President of AG’s App Store Payment solutions Sebastian Böhm said in a company statement. “Today O2 customers in Germany, Spain
and Ireland can already pay easily for purchases in Google Play via
their mobile phone contract.”

Other than the U.K., net-m provides technical and operational interface between Google and telecom network operators in 10 other countries reaching over 100 million customers.
