    Deem ran with the leading investment. A round for the San Francisco based company, was $30 M, followed by an investment of Intel Capital in GoodData for $25.7 M.

    Majority of the week’s activity was concentrated on the retail payments space. Venture backed and strategic investments on the retail payments side accounted for $127M of the total investment activity in the first week of October.

    79% of the total investments were data analytics related to retail, shopping & commerce and customer acquisition & loyalty. Authentication/biometrics, P2P, POS acceptance and prepaid reflected the least amount of investment activity.

    The most active VCs/PEs included Intel Capital ($25.7 Million) and Kayne Partners ($15 Million).

    The US led as the most active region. Followed by Canada, while China observed slow activity.
