No Movement Among Top Travel Apps In New PYMNTS Provider Ranking

Like the best flights, the latest PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Travel Apps is going to be brief this month — because not one has moved a single chart position. Maybe they need an app?

It’s a rare occurrence, like Halley’s Comet or the waiving of a seat upgrade fee. Yet the planets do occasionally align, peace sometimes guides our planet, and love can steer the stars as the world gets ready to travel again (finally) with a thorough read of the new rankings.

The Top 5

For many travelers their first stop is our No. 1, Booking.com, which just partnered with crypto.com (very cool), and vacation rental pioneer Vrbo at No. 2, while perennially popular lodgings app Airbnb remains comfy at No. 3.

At No. 4 is Hopper, which uses large datasets to predict and analyze airfare and accommodations, followed at No. 5 once again by Hotels.com touting its new Visa loyalty card.

The Top 10

Moving on (but not changing chart positions one bit) we find the Skyscanner direct booking app at No. 6, with dependable TripAdvisor holding down the fort at No. 7 like last month.

With a cool new feature highlighting boutique hotels, KAYAK is not capsizing at No. 8.

While we’re on the topic of who hasn’t changed chart position — again, that’s everyone this time out — the HotelTonight app holds its reservation at No. 9.

At No. 10 yet again is the FlightAware real-time flight status app, for those of us who obsessively want to know where the plane is. Time to board now as PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Travel Apps takes to the road to measure more app data. Travel safe.
