The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation and Variety have announced that Twentieth Century Fox Television Chairmen Gary Newman and Dana Walden will be the keynote Q & A speakers for their 2012 TV Summit taking place on March 20 at the Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood.
Fresh off of four Golden Globe wins including the top prize for both drama (“Homeland”) and Comedy (“Modern Family,”) the Chairmen will join a line-up of leaders from the broadcast/cable channels, emerging original digital content hubs, TV service providers and technology partners, as they examine what it means to develop, market and distribute successful programming in a changing media environment. Last year’s inaugural event sold out.
“Dana and Gary are two of the most strategic thinkers in television, and have consistently proven that they are at the forefront of the critical changes in the industry,” said Jerry Petry, Chairman of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation, the charitable arm of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. “We could not be more pleased to welcome them to our line-up, and to partner with Variety for a second year.”
“Dana and Gary have an extraordinary track record of success in the TV space, and have earned the reputation as some of the smartest execs in the business,” said Brian Gott, Publisher of Variety. “Variety and our partners at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation are thrilled to have them join us as keynotes for the conference.”
Since 1999, Chairmen Dana Walden and Gary Newman have overseen Twentieth Century Fox Television, the prolific supplier of blockbuster television programming and home to many of the most acclaimed writers, producers and performers working in television.

They delivered many of this year’s most successful new shows, including the award-winning drama Homeland, the Fox hits New Girl and Terra Nova, the ABC comedy Last Man Standing, Kiefer Sutherland’s return to television in Touch and FX’s newest sensation American Horror Story.
