Innovations in Pizza Commerce: Fridge Magnet Sends Orders via Bluetooth

A pizzeria in the Middle East has revolutionized mobile commerce with its new refrigerator magnet.

Yes, seriously. Dubai-based Red Tomato Pizza has put Bluetooth technology into a fridge magnet that automatically sends a customer’s favorite order to the restaurant when pushed. The order is then confirmed via SMS, Finextra explains.

To promote the new device, Red Tomato has put a 90-second demo video (with surprisingly high production values, no less) online.

Of course, this isn’t exactly mobile commerce; you have to be at home to push the magnet-button down and place an order. But it’s close. And I’ll level with you here: I want one.
