    The annual competition sees companies in the payments industry compete for prizes in 11 categories: Hardware, Software, Identification/ID Cards/Health, IT Security, Transportation, Banking/Retail/Loyalty, Trusted Internet/Authentication, Mobility, e-Transactions, Manufacturing and Tests and Discovery. This year’s big winner was NXP who won the award in the Hardware category with their Next Generation NFC Radio Controller, as well as the Trusted Internet/Authentication category with its mobile POS solution which combines NFC technology and contactless e-ticketing for transport.

    Other winners include Toro, in the category of Banking/Retail/Loyalty with its platform to port and distribute NFC applications, Oberthur Technologies in the Mobility category with its NFC payment wallet and Gemalto, with their “Print Pixel” solution in the Manufacturing and Tests category.
