U.K.’s “Payments SWAT” Team Saves £400M Over Ten Years

The U.K.’s Dedicated Cheque and Plastic Crime Unit (DCPCU) says it has registered £400 million in savings from reductions in fraud since its founding in 2002, Finextra reports.

Agents have also recovered 331,000 compromised payment card numbers, the report says.

The DCPCU is fully supported by the nation’s banking industry, which provides the agency with £5 million each year.
