Wells Fargo Wins Debit Fee Ruling Appeal

A federal appeals court has overturned a district court ruling that banned Wells Fargo from charing Californians overdraft fees, according to the L.A. Times.

The original ruling was based on Wells Fargo’s practice of posting the most expensive debit card transactions first, and forced the bank to pay $203 million in restitution to customers. The case will now return to district court, as the federal appeals court upheld a ruling that Wels Fargo misled customers about its posting practices.
