Absa Rolls Out Multi-Currency Travel Prepaid Card In South Africa

Absa announced the roll out of its new multi-currency Cash Passport that will allow customers in South Africa to have multiple foreign currencies on a single card. The prepaid travel card will allow users to carry several currencies with access to 35.9 million locations around the world. Travelex Card Services Limited is backing the issuance of the new card, which is licensed by MasterCard Asia/Pacific. Currently, registered card users can upload a maximum of four currencies, including U.S. dollars, UK pounds, euros and the Australian dollar. Travelex will allow more currencies soon. Absa has also announced that they will be introducing an Islamic Banking multi-currency Cash Passport in the near future.
