Barclays Reveals “Buyit” mPayments App

Barclays announced that customers will soon be able to buy products or services they see in advertisements, reported Finextra. Barclays’ customers who use the Pingit mobile app will be able to make mobile payment.

The new feature is dubbed “Buyit,” and Barclays customers can use it to make purchases by scanning codes in magazines and billboard advertisements.

Pingit allows users to conduct immediate person-to-person payments with their mobile phones.

Richard Martin, Barclay’s managing director of cash management, told Finextra, “You don’t have to go home and go online to purchase the items later, you can choose to purchase right there and then.”

Users can also use the service to make utility bill payments. The exact date of release was not mentioned, however will be released “shortly.”
