BTC China Vows To Carry On Business

BTC China, the online bitcoin exchange, is vowing to press on with its business despite an ongoing virtual currency crackdown by the People’s Bank of China, AllThingsD reported on December 19.

BTC is currently unable to receive new deposits due to a new ban on bitcoin payments processing in China. In an interview with AllThingsD, BTC China CEO Bobby Lee said that the restrictions do not yet mean that the exchange has to shut down.

“Whether or not they’re told not to do business with us is something else entirely, because we’re not privy to that conversation,” Lee explained. “The assumption is some of the past third-party payment processors have declined us because they’ve been told not to do it or suppose it’s high risk. But that’s only speculation.”
