A new study from Fiserv has indicated that digital forms of payment are still trailing behind cash and checks in person-to-person (P2P) U.S. transactions.
The survey questioned 2,500 Americans to reveal that cash is the most popular method of payment, used by 56 percent of the 88 percent of respondents who said they had sent someone money last year. Checks were sent by 41 percent of that 88 percent, and only 31 percent used an online method to send money.
