EPC Publishes Latest Version For SEPA Card Standardization

The European Payments Council, joined by the Cards Stakeholders Group, announced the recently published version 6.5 of SEPA cards standardization, reports Finextra. The updated version provides the expected requirements for the SEPA card and terminal infrastructure, and is based on open international card standards.

With the imminent adoption of SEPA in the EU, authorities have acknowledged the need to create a uniform standardization requirement process to help with an efficient integration.

All constituents in the market and other parties are welcome to submit feedback to EU authorities regarding the newest version. Feedback must be submitted by July 14, 2013.
