Forrester: Holiday E-Retail Sales To Soar 15%

Holiday e-retail sales are expected to climb 15 percent this holiday shopping season, Internet Retailer reported on November 25.

Forrester Research estimated that consumers will spend approximately $78.7 billion online before the end of the year. Roughly 167 million shoppers will log on to make purchases, spending an average of $472, a 12.7 percent increase compared to last year.

“Strong economic growth and low unemployment rates project a healthy playing field for online holiday sales and outweigh any lingering dampening effect of the government shutdown,” Forrester wrote in its study, according to Internet Retailer.
