Italy’s SIA Acquires Emmecom To Build European Payments Infrastructure

SIA, an Italian payments processor, announced it has acquired telecom firm Emmecom as part of its new launch of a network service for European banks and merchants. SIA will use Emmecom to develop a single technology infrastructure to operate in Europe. This technology aims to help manage multi-channel POS payments, which will ideally help simplify the process between merchants and EU banks.

    SIA also announced the rollout of a new network solution that will help monitor different devices such as sensors, probes, video cameras and more. The machine will allow these devices to be controlled remotely and enable the automatic transmission of status reports to a central information location.
