Macy's Announces New Omnichannel Fulfillment Center

Macy's has revealed plans to build a new eCommerce fulfillment center in Oklahoma as part of a move to support its omnichannel growth, a December 17 press release indicated.

The 1.3 million-square-foot facility will begin operations in April 2015, with the first orders being delivered from the location that summer.

“The rapid growth of Macy’s direct-to-customer shipments, rooted in our omnichannel approach to business, requires us to continue to strategically add fulfillment capacity so our customers can receive their orders quickly and efficiently," Terry Lundgren, chairman, president and CEO of Macy’s, said a December 17 statement.

Macy's currently has three additional fulfillment centers in Arizona, Tennessee and West Virginia. For more on the expanded delivery programs this center will support, read our overview of Macy's latest in-store pickup program.
