MasterCard, Gemalto, Others Partner For Italian NFC Pilot

Wind and BNL BNP Paribas Group have teamed up with SIA and MasterCard to unveil the commencement of an NFC mobile payment pilot in Italy, reported Finextra. The trial aims to eliminate the need for cash, and allows Samsung smartphone users to make contactless payments with a Classic Credit Card issued by BNL on the MasterCard circuit. Additionally, Gemalto will provide the NFC SIM for the trial.
