Wind and BNL BNP Paribas Group have teamed up with SIA and MasterCard to unveil the commencement of an NFC mobile payment pilot in Italy, reported Finextra. The trial aims to eliminate the need for cash, and allows Samsung smartphone users to make contactless payments with a Classic Credit Card issued by BNL on the MasterCard circuit. Additionally, Gemalto will provide the NFC SIM for the trial.
Customers interested in the trial can download the mobile app, named “YouPass BNL,” and use their smartphone to pay next time they are at a MasterCard PayBass-enabled terminal. Users can also check transaction history and statuses on the app.
