A new study reported that mobile banking is quickly catching on in Northern Ireland, according BBC News. According to the research, which was conducted at the end of July 2013, there was a 50 percent rise in mobile banking usage among smartphone users within the last year.
Ninety-two percent of participants said they use their mobile application to check their account balance, 25 percent said they use it to pay bills and 35 percent said they use it for money transfers.
In terms of how Northern Irish consumers are using their smartphones to access mobile banking, 39 percent reported they use the Internet server on their phone, while 31 percent said they conduct transactions on the app.
