Office Depot Adds mPOS To Stores

Florida-based office product retailer Office Depot announced on July 19 that it has developed its own mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) system that runs on Apple’s iPod touch, Mobile Commerce Daily reported.

    “Our stores are busy during back to school and we realize our customers need to continue the convenience of simple checkout even during the busy back-to-school weeks,” Christine Buscarino, the company’s vice president of customer experience, told the media outlet.

    The company’s mPOS program will debut in its stores on July 28.
