One Million Londoners Use Contactless Cards On Buses

Since the launch of contactless card services on London buses four months ago, the number of registered users has recently exceeded one million, reports Pocket-Lint. Report figures have shown that nearly 10,000 bus commuters use the NFC payment card every day. The Oyster card is still the most popular method for travelers, but the number of people registering for the NFC alternative is rapidly rising. More than 1,000 users register every week.

Sandra Alzettea, senior vice president at Visa Europe, commented, “Today’s milestone is further validation that contactless payment is a convenience consumers really appreciate,” reports Pocket-Lint.
