Orange Botswana Launches Visa Card For Locals

Orange Botswana announced the official launch of its Visa card locally, which provides registered customers with debit card-based cross-platform financial services, reported Humanipo. Orange is offering this financial transaction solution to help the estimated 50 percent of Botswana population that remains unbanked. Orange Money customers that register for the debit card can use it at over 300 Visa cash machines and 4,700 Visa payment terminals across Botswana.

“After all, financial inclusion is about providing an opportunity for the unbanked and financially underserved members of the community, so they are able to participate in the formal financial system, thereby opening avenues for entering the economic mainstream,” said Linah Mohohlo, governor of the Bank of Botswana to Humpanipo.
