Payments Council Draws Roadmap For UK Payments

The Payments Council has published the first “Payments Roadmap-An Initial Report” that outlines its approach for possible options for improving payment services used by UK consumers. The report has been created to help shape the country’s payment system and enhance consumer benefits.

The report offers six options to further develop the UK’s payment infrastructure as well as including a three-year program that explains how to provide new consumer benefits. The Payments Council hopes the Roadmap will promote debate and future consultation.

The council has plans to meet with government, business, consumer and charity representative organizations to discuss the nation’s current payment solutions and issues. A full report of the Roadmap will be released in Q1 of 2014.
