Report: Mobile Retail Apps Missing In-Store Features

Analysis from EKN Research indicated that nine out of 10 retailers have not integrated in-store features into their mobile apps, Mobile Commerce Daily reported.

    Gaurav Pant, the company’s research director, told the media outlet that adding this element is necessary if retailers want to adapt to an omnichannel marketplace.

    “We see retailers leveraging mobility to enable omnichannel integration across four key areas: customer engagement, commerce and payment, delivery/fulfillment and the in-store experience,” he told Mobile Commerce Daily.

    Despite this, the report found that spending on store technologies such as in-store features for mobile apps will remain flat for the next three years.
