According to a new study by Juniper Research, over 950 million mobile users around the world are expected to use phones for ticketing services within the next five years, reported Mobile Entertainment. There are currently around 458 million mobile ticketing users in 2013.
The transportation industry has claimed it will promote further adoption through various promotions. Transport companies will extend services for live events and movie theatres. New data indicated that British mobile users want movie tickets to be available on their handsets.
Airlines will also start transitioning to mobile ticketing since mobile boarding passes have proven to be popular and convenient for customers.
