Kuwait International Bank and McDonald’s have announced the imminent launch of a mobile payments pilot using Swedish-based Seamless’ technology, reported Finextra. Kuwaiti customers will be required to download a mobile app to use the SEQR system. They will then be prompted to scan a code at the payment terminal before they enter a PIN number to approve the payment. After the transaction is complete, customers will receive a receipt on their mobile phone.
Peter Fredell, CEO of Seamless, commented, “The launch of SEQR on the Swedish market has been very successful, and we hope that our partnership will help to make life simpler for many consumers in Kuwait.”
